About the role
About you
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of hardware developments on a wide range of projects
- Develop proposals that accurately reflect the scope and requirements of hardware projects, including timelines, deliverables and budgets
- Manage the delivery of all electronics and embedded software components
- Manage subcontractor resources and relationships required for specialist development tasks
- Collaborate with Design and Engineering team colleagues to develop innovative and effective solutions
- Develop strategic direction for hardware development at OPD and build an infrastructure to support this
Role Requirements
- 5 years (+) of relevant industry experience, preferably in a product design consultancy or similar industry
- Experience with embedded systems design, microcontrollers and firmware development
- Proven track record of successfully managing hardware projects to completion
- Knowledge of compliance and certification requirements for hardware products
- Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
