About the role

The Opportunity Manager will be the gateway for new opportunities entering OPD – supporting team members to set up meetings, scope and quote new business, and then supporting project initiation and integration into the business.

About you

We’re looking for someone who appreciates the value of a golden opportunity when they see one! An individual who is commercially savvy with a thirst for knowledge and a willingness to help will be ideally suited to this role.

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for new enquiries into OPD
  • Manage the early stages of the client experience, nurturing key relationships and ensuring their journey into OPD is enjoyable and smooth. This may include qualifying the opportunity, putting NDA’s in place, undertaking background research, logging the lead through OPD’s CRM tool, connecting the opportunity with the relevant department lead, setting up meetings and supporting the team leads through the briefing and proposal process
  • Manage initial client communications – following up on proposals, checking client correspondence, working with the finance team to make sure the project is set up correctly on the OPD systems and that the project paperwork is all in order
  • Organising initial client meetings, making sure the room is set up, that agendas and meeting minutes are circulated to attendees and supporting all pre-project kick off client interactions
  • Managing the progression of opportunities through OPD’s CRM tool and into the project management system upon project commencement

Role Requirements

  • Confident communicator who can represent OPD in a professional manner while building rapport with clients and potential new clients into the business
  • Commercially astute and driven to make sure opportunities are progressed in a timely fashion through the business
  • Excellent attention to detail, with clear focus and the ability to drive opportunities forward in a considered direction
  • Self-directed and reliable, with an adaptable and flexible attitude
  • A good listener who can understand client needs and requirements
  • An understanding of product design and/or engineering - the ideal candidate may have worked in these fields before or be degree level educated in a related field
